A first haircut is a milestone in every toddler’s life, and if you are at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, don’t overlook the Harmony Barber Shop. Located near the front of the Magic Kingdom, the Harmony Barber Shop is an old fashioned style barber shop with only a few chairs. But, it is staffed with Disney Cast Members who are amazing with toddlers – even if they are wiggling and screaming!
Personally, I think the First Haircut Package is one of the most affordable special experiences around property. For $19, you’ll receive a haircut, Mickey ears with ‘First Haircut’ embroidered on the back, and a certificate with your child’s name, date, and the location. Disney Cast Members will also give you a lock of hair for your baby book and confetti in the child’s hair is optional.
On our most recent visit, our 18 month old was first adorned with stickers (from head to toe), then given a light up toy to distract her while her hair was being trimmed. Less than 10 minutes later, she looked great and was given her Mickey ears. Here’s a few pictures:
The Harmony Barber Shop hours are usually 9am to 5pm daily. We didn’t make advanced reservations for this experience, however you can reserve your spot by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.

This is truly a unique Disney experience. A quick tip about tips for the Harmony Barber Shop: unlike in the restaurants you cannot charge gratuity to your Magic Band! We discovered this the hard way, so bring your actual credit card or cash. We were lucky because we were staying right next door at the Grand Floridian, so we ran back to get cash. They did such a fantastic job with our screaming 15 month-old that they definitely earned something extra!
