Why We Traded our Disney Princess Dresses for Dress Up Aprons

We traded our Disney Princess Dresses for Disney Princess ApronsOur household is finished with Disney costume dress up dresses! I don’t know about you, but I am relieved! No more glitter on every surface, no more scratchy tulle when I pick up the kids, and no more quick fixes when yet another seam is ripped out. Unfortunately, it took our family several (expensive) Disney costume dresses to realize that they aren’t made to withstand everyday use! Recently, I replaced the our dress up costumes with dress up aprons from My Sweet Georgia on Etsy and runningoutamoonlight on Etsy.

After several weeks of having the aprons, I think they are wonderful! I love that the kids put them over their clothes, no need to constantly change outfits. I also appreciate the simplicity of the designs I chose (read: durable cotton material that is easy to machine wash and dry!) We recently visited Disney’s Epcot, and we allowed one of the girls to wear an apron throughout the day. I feel that the apron was great for the heat in the parks, because it didn’t add more bulky clothing on a 95 degree day. The Princess aprons were $17 each and slightly cheaper as a bundled pack. The Princess aprons took about a week for My Sweet Georgia to create, and they were shipped quickly upon completion. Several other sellers offer other Disney Princess aprons on Etsy that range in price from $10 to $100.

Here is the bundle pack of aprons I purchased, which included Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Aurora, Ariel, and Belle.

Here is my three year old modeling the Cinderella apron. She loves them and hasn’t even asked for her other dresses!

Moms of boys: I also picked up a few boy Disney themed aprons, Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, from runningoutamoonlight on Etsy that are great! The boys Toy Story aprons were priced at $20 per apron. They were completed quickly and shipped immediately upon completion. There are not many sellers on Etsy with boys dress up aprons.

Go ahead, make the switch to aprons, you won’t regret it!

Note: Neither Etsy seller knew I would be posting a review of their products. I received no compensation for this post, and will not receive any compensation if you order any items. If you do order, leave a note to let them know Disney Under 3 sent you over.

  1. What a great idea! Dharmatrading.com is a great website that sells plain white cotton dresses and shirts, as well as great dyes. In preparation for our trip I’ve been making our little girls some “dress-down princess dresses”, with a Disney princess color and a simple princess design on them. So far I’ve done Belle and Rapunzel- cute and comfy!

  1. […] Under 3 also shares a great idea to use Princess Dress-Up Aprons on your visit to the parks.  I came across this too late to have time to order any this trip, but […]
